Rain making its way through the Desert Southwest on Monday, but a much drier week is ahead

Quiet weather will continue through at least Saturday, along with slightly cooler than normal temperatures. A powerful early winter storm will then develop over the West by Sunday and Monday.

Lingering chances for showers will continue throughout the next couple of days as a weather system moves through. The best rain chances will be focused over the higher terrain with chances decreasing into the lower deserts.

A series of weather disturbances moving through the Western states will lead to periods of cloudiness along with chances for rain this weekend

Mainly tranquil and dry conditions will prevail through the upcoming weekend. Day to day temperatures will continue to run around seasonal normals with partly cloudy skies today becoming mostly clear starting Wednesday.

Cool and dry conditions will prevail through at least the first half of next week with only occasional periods of high clouds tonight through Friday afternoon and again early next week.

As strong surface high pressure settles over Nevada, windy conditions will continue across portions of the Desert Southwest through this evening. Otherwise, mostly clear skies and cool temperatures are forecast over the next several days. For Phoenix and the remainder of the lower elevations, high temperatures will climb into the upper 60s and low 70s through the weekend.

Quiet, cool weather is in place this week though jet stream energy
will arrive over the area by midweek. This will lead to a period of gusty winds, particularly on Wednesday. Meanwhile, cooler than normal temperatures will persist through the end of the week.

Mainly tranquil weather conditions will prevail through the next several days. Below normal temperatures with highs in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees are expected through next week with Saturday being the warmest day with highs in the low 70s.

A cold front moving through the region this afternoon has brought wet conditions to south-central Arizona as light to locally moderate showers move through. Showers will exit going into this evening with drier conditions prevailing thereafter.

Another pleasant afternoon is shaping up across the valley with temperatures nearing 80 degrees this afternoon. A transitioning weather pattern begins tomorrow, although colder temperatures will delay until Wednesday.
