Weekly Rewind: Protests, Disputes, and Festivities
(KYMA, KECY) - On Sept. 20, a protest began in front of a Best Western hotel in the Yuma Foothills. Many are against the decision to house migrants as they await their court dates.
Protestors stood out holding signs with several reading "Stop illegal immigration."
Some have concerns over the spread of COVID-19 , other signs expressed that the homeless and veterans should be in the hotels instead.
As more places open up, a Yuma taco event began festivities on Friday, September 24th and Saturday September 25th.

Two major California water agencies have settled a dispute that once threatened to derail a multi-state agreement to protect the Colorado River.
The Imperial Irrigation District is the largest, single recipient of Colorado River water.
It sued the Metropolitan Water District twice in the past two years over water contributions and water storage.
The entities announced Monday they have reached a settlement agreement. Under the agreement, Imperial can store water in Lake Mead under Metropolitan’s account.

Chief Agent Chris Clem released the video on social media Thursday morning. Chief Clem says it shows four Mexican nationals illegally crossing the border, then getting into a waiting SUV.
According to the Center of Disease Control (CDC), there have been over 42 million Coronavirus related cases within the U.S.
Taking those numbers into account, California makes up about 9.5% of cases and Arizona has about 4.2% of those related cases.
When it comes to vaccinations, the CDC states that 390 million doses have been administered, with California making up 12% of those doses, and Arizona at about 5.5% of doses administered.
