News 11 Weather Authority: Weather pattern change arriving
December 6th, 2021
YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - The days of near record to record warmth for early December are on the verge of being finished.
The deepest trough yet to form in our Fall season is closing in on Central to Southern California, and will start effecting the Desert Southwest as soon as the overnight hours tonight.
An upper level low with abundant moisture association will roll just to the North of our area over the next 12 to 24 hours, but the moisture content with it will give us a slight chance of light rainfall.
The Imperial Valley could get some light measurable rain that could also stretch to the Yuma area near the Colorado River corridor.
The addition of cloud coverage and cool air could sink our overall temperatures up to 10 degrees lower than what we've been feeling lately.
The trend will continue later this week, as another wet system will give us more chances of rainfall and sink our daytime highs into the wintry levels of the mid 60's by the next weekend.
