YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The "winds of change" have literally arrived to the Desert Southwest on this Wednesday.

An approaching large-scale system in the West is ushering hefty winds and the start of an influx of cool air in our area.

The active weather has prompted the National Weather Service to enact a Wind Advisory in the Ocotillo area, a Blowing Dust Advisory in the Imperial Valley, and a Red Flag Warning in most of Yuma County.

We've already had wind gusts up to 26 miles per hour in Yuma, while the gusts in the Imperial Valley have ranged in the neighborhood of 35 to 40 miles per hour.

Wind effects aside, our temperatures should downgrade to daytime highs in the 80s through Friday.
