Verdict is in for Yuma murder trial

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The jury has reached their verdict in the case of a Yuma man who was killed outside of the Maverick bar back in 2021.

33-year-old Jerome Hall faced one count of premeditated first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the shooting death of 36-year-old Tyrone Hall.

The jury deliberated for just a little over one day and was unable to reach a consensus on pre-meditated first-degree murder, resulting in a hung jury.

They ultimately found Jerome Hall guilty of the lesser charge of second-degree murder, as well as the two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Hall will learn his fate at his sentencing hearing on July 18.
