California Senator Padilla announces over $600 Million for water infrastructure
Recently signed law to help fund California projects
WASHINGTON, D.C. (KYMA, KECY) - United States Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) announced that more than $600 million will be going towards water infrastructure projects for clean water.
These projects will be worked on through 2022 with funding coming from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that was recently passed.
“Too many communities in California don’t have access to the basic right of clean, affordable drinking water. That’s why I fought pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – to improve access to clean drinking water and reverse these disparities," Senator Padilla stated. “With this funding, California can get to work rebuilding our aging water infrastructure to better connect underserved communities, eliminate contaminants, create drought resilience, and better prepare for the impacts of the climate crisis.”
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also recently mentioned that they will be allocating billions in funding across the nation, with $600 million going towards California.
