Imperial Unified School District starts dual immersion program
Information session planned for parents curious to enroll their children
IMPERIAL, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Newly built Cross Elementary announces Friday that the Imperial Unified School District (IUSD) will be starting a dual immersion program. Planned bilingual education impacts Cross' incoming kindergarteners.
This appears to be one of the Valley's first, public-school based curriculum specifically aimed at incorporating the Spanish language as equally as English. Cross Elementary eagerly describes classrooms as "50-50," and open to 50 students throughout IUSD.
The school shares, "The value of biliterate students is enormous, and we are excited to offer this opportunity."
A session is planned Tuesday, June 1, at 5:15 p.m. for interested parents over Zoom.
