The Healing Journey provided free back-to-school haircuts to local students
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Healing Journey provided free haircuts for its kids and local families in need.
Rafael's Hair Studio and Goodfellas Barbershop volunteered their time to come out and help.
Boys and girls up to age 17 were able to come and get freshened up in time for back to school free of charge.
The healing journey provides services for local trauma victims, such as counseling, therapy, and case management.
"I reached out because I know that during school time, it's difficult for parents to do haircuts. I contacted Rafael from the Beauty Salon and Goodfellas and they're amazing, they're willing to do these haircuts because they know how parents are struggling right now," says Estrella Fitch, the CEO and Founder of The Healing Journey.
This is the first time the healing journey offered this event.
They say they plan on hosting this event every year.
