Local organizations provide cooling centers
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - With the recent high temperatures, it is easy to become dehydrated and suffer a heat stroke.
Crossroads Mission and Our Choice Human Services are providing cooling centers for those looking for a place to cool down and have a drink of water to stay hydrated.
Crossroads Mission focuses on helping those that may be experiencing homelessness and knows the needs of the community, especially during this time of year.
“We became a cooling station because we deal with the majority of the homeless population in the town and we know they needed a place to come get out of the heat and availability to water. Because you know heat stroke is a big thing here in Yuma," stated Greg Culver, Crossroads Mission Men's Shelter Director.
Both organizations are in need of water bottles to help people stay hydrated.
You can donate to Crossroads Mission located at 944 S Arizona Ave, and Our Choice Human Services located at 370 E 24th St.
