Man crashes vehicle into home
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A 28-year-old man was driving a 2023 Dodge Charger recklessly when he lost control and collided with a home with seven people inside.
The Yuma Police Department (YPD) said an officer heard the sound of screeching tires and saw a vehicle driving recklessly Tuesday evening.
The officer made a U-turn and was waved down by witnesses pointing to the collision in the area of 7th Street and S. 20th Avenue.
Yuma police said they found the 28-year-old driver, arrested him, and booked him on several felony charges, including endangerment and reckless driving.
There was also a 29-year-old woman passenger in the vehicle and neither the driver nor the passenger reported any injuries.
Yuma police said there were seven victims ranging from ages 1 to 53 years old inside the home.
No injuries were reported from the people in the home and the Red Cross was notified to aid the displaced family.
Yuma police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time and the case is still under investigation.
