Young man arrested for allegedly pointing a laser at aircraft
A laser was pointed at a helicopter three separate times
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Police said a teen is behind bars after being accused of pointing a laser at a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helicopter.
The Yuma Police Department said on Monday evening, the CBP Yuma Branch reported someone inside a vehicle pointing a laser at their helicopter three separate times.
They said the laser hit the helicopter and pilots.
Police said they found the vehicle near Avenue 6E and 43rd Place by Ocotillo Park.
Yuma police officers arrested the 18-year-old suspect and booked him on one count of aiming a laser at an occupied aircraft.
