Making a Difference
New year, new possibilities
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT). For many the start of a new year means a turning of a page, or for those who consider themselves to be tech savvy, a reboot. Some set goals for themselves in an effort to better their lives; many times it's becoming debt free or being a little more health conscience.
In 2019, News 11's 'Making a Difference' segment spotlighted people and organizations that went out of their way to enrich the lives of those around them. We spoke to a classroom who collected supplies, which in turn were sent to our troops overseas. We highlighted the efforts of a local non-profit whose mission is to make sure no one goes hungry during the holidays. Act of kindness that shouldn't go unnoticed; hence making a difference.
So, in true News 11 fashion we wanted to end the year with a glimpse into the future. We ventured into Yuma's Historic Downtown during the city's New Years Eve celebration and asked a simple question "In 2020, how do you plan to make a difference?". So, the question was asked and the answers ranged from one man looking to better his state of mind, one looking to a college student looking to make the world a better place.
Overall, the answers were positive and we hope to continue to show these acts of kindness as we enter the new year. We invite you to join us on Wednesdays at 6 pm for News 11's Making a Difference segment and if you know of someone who's paying forward send us their info to news@kyma.com
