OCOTILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Border Patrol agents rescued a lost man in the Jacumba Wilderness region last Friday morning.

U.S. Border Patrol agents said they received a call from a man who illegally crossed the U.S. around 5:50 a.m., stating he was left behind by his group and was lost in the mountains in need of help. Agents tracked the man's location and found him three hours later.

Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital for minor injuries. Agents will process the individual once released from the hospital.

Agents have rescued 125 individuals abandoned by their smugglers, lost, or in distress.
