California nurses hold a Barbie themed party for one of their patients
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Cedars-Sinai nurses created a Barbie themed party to bring special cheer to a patient at Guerin Children’s.
The nurses all dressed in hot pink and decorated a Barbie themed wall with streamers and balloons for Ashley Gomez. They also presented her with a Barbie doll.
Gomez, who has cerebral palsy, has been in the hospital for six weeks. She loves pink and all things Barbie.
Healthcare worker Haydee Rodriguez organized the party. She says, "Ashley is our pink princess. This was a difficult hospitalization for her and we saw this as a chance to make her smile.”
Her mother Cynthia said, “This party made her feel like the beautiful diva that she is. The nurses have made this hard time in our lives bearable with these special acts of kindness.”
