CA school board president under investigation
CLAREMONT, Calif. (NBC) - Parents are calling for the resignation of a California school board president.
This comes as students claimed they mingled, by force, with topless men and drunken adults at a private holiday party.
Claremont Police, along with the district, are investigating the allegations from Claremont High School choir students.
Earlier last week, the students received an invitation from Steven Llanusa, the Claremont Unified School District Board of Education President.
Llanusa was hosting a holiday party at his house last Saturday.
According to parents, after the students arrived, they were encouraged to socialize with those at the party and were even offered alcohol.
Special session
During the investigation, CUSD held a special session on Friday where parents called for Llanusa's resignation.
"Sadly, there is no apology that can help our kids un-see or un-feel the events that took place in his home," Sabrina Ho, a parent, spoke.
Parents also demanded to know if other board members attended the party.
However, Llanusa was noticeably absent during the session.
In a statement, CUSD said they are taking the allegations "extremely seriously."
Not only that, CUSD say they "will not condone any inappropriate behavior by adults toward our students."
