Border Patrol helps pregnant migrant having labor pains

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents help a pregnant undocumented immigrant after illegally crossing the border.

U.S. Border Patrol said it found a group of three migrants along the river east of the Andrade Port of Entry and realized one of them was in labor. The 20-year-old Honduran national informed agents she was experiencing labor pains.

Emergency Medical Services transported the woman to the hospital, where she later gave birth. Agents said once the 20-year-old and her baby are released from the hospital, she will be turned over to a sponsor who will provide accommodations for both of them.

The woman was previously apprehended by Yuma agents in February and was returned back to Mexico.
