Arizona fire crews attack “Ventana Fire” by ground and air

TUCSON, Ariz. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A fire broke out Tuesday morning at around 3:30am in the Ventana Canyon area of the Catalina Mountains near Tucson.

The fire has burned over 50 acres as of 7:20am, according to KOLD. Crews attacked the "Ventana Fire" from the ground and air.

A few homes were nearby but there was no word of any evacuations, according to KOLD. Two popular trailheads and parking lots shut down due to the fire.

The cause of the fire remained undetermined, but lightning strikes were observed around the time flames were first spotted, according to KOLD.
