Local club reacts to member winning $10,000 dollars in Mega Millions drawing
The person who won bought their ticket at a local Fraternal Order Of Eagles chapter, and on Friday, other members were happy to hear one of their own is a bit richer - 13 On Your Side's Luis Lopez reports
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Fraternal Order of Eagles is typically a gathering spot for local residents, as the club has plenty of things for members, like Carol Johnson to do.
“I come down here, I play loudmouth, I play cribbage, come down and have cocktails periodically, you know just because, and socialize, because it’s great fun socializing, good bunch of people here,” Johnson said.
In addition to the games and the club’s bar and food, members, like Judy Stanek-King, can also take advantage of the lottery tickets available.
“I would have hoped they would have won 10 million, but I’m just happy to death for them,” Stanek-King said.
One member is $10,000 richer, after winning a Mega Millions drawing from this past Tuesday.
Three days later, and those at the club still don’t know who won.
“I just heard about it, It’s just like, I'd like to find them, I would have loved to have been here when they won, it it would have been so exciting,” Johnson said.
Until they find whoever won, the members are just hoping some of the luck rubs off on them.
“I don’t usually play but I might start now, yeah let’s go,” Johnson said.
As of right now, the club says they do hope to find the winner soon.
