No new coronavirus deaths in Arizona

MGN

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - For the first time in a month, Arizona health officials have no new coronavirus deaths to report.

Monday's report from the Arizona Health Services Department (AHSD) does confirm 190 new cases statewide, but it does not include any additional casualties from the illness.

The state saw its first death of March 21. The only days since then, which did not include a fatality, were March 23 and 26.

Last week Arizona did see a major surge in the death toll from coronavirus. However, health officials explain that's like the result of a surge in cases weeks ago. They predict the number of deaths from the illness will slow as hospitalizations level off.
