U.S. issues Mexico travel advisory due to crime and kidnapping
(KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- The U.S. issued a travel advisory for those considering to travel to Mexico Tuesday.
The State Department reports the advisory was issued due to crime and kidnapping.
The State Department said the U.S. government employees may not travel between cities after dark, may not take taxis, to include Ubers, and must rely on their own transportation.
The U.S. government employees may not drive from the U.S. Mexico border to or from the interior parts of Mexico, with the exception of daytime travel within Baja California, between Nogales, and Hermosillo.
As of now, that travel advisory to Mexico is a level 2- Exercise Increased Caution.
