Hundreds in Yuma without power nearly 24-hours after storm

Nearly 400 customers are without power almost 24 hours after a fierce storm knocked it out.

APS is now reimbursing customers affected by the outage for ice purchases up to 20 pounds and dry ice purchases up to 40 pounds .

George Mitchell, a nearby resident, rode around the neighborhood to make sure residents reliant on oxygen have what they need.

Another Foothills resident who lives near 28th Street and Bonnie Avenue told us about a fire that broke out during the storm.

” Nothing really burned, just the garage did. They did a good job on it. You’ll notice it just caught the side of the house. That’s repairable I think, ” said Jim.

Rural Metro said firefighters responded to the fire just after 9 Monday night. However, they don’t believe the storm sparked the blaze.
