Man in alley shooting case sentenced

A man was sentenced on Wednesday to 6.5 years in prison after being involved in a shooting where two people were injured in May of 2018 .

Earlier this year, 34-year-old Daniel Gilbert Muñoz was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

In 2018, police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 2000 block of S. Avenue A where they found two victims with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Munoz will serve his time and the sentence is a part of a plea agreement.
