Woman dies after a metal straw pierces her eye
One woman from England is dead after she fell on a metal straw, according to FOX News.
The incident happened last November. Reports say 60-year-old Elena Struthers-Gardner suffered from a traumatic brain injury after falling while carrying a mason jar-styled drinking glass that had the straw inside.
Gardner was a retired jockey and had mobility issues stemming from a horse-riding accident. She was prone to fall randomly, like she did during this accident.
The freak accident lead the coronor to report that great care should be taken while using metal straws. One word of advice is to not use metal straws with any lid that holds them in place.
