2 suspects arrested for attempted murder in Brawley
Two men from Brawley linked to an attempted murder are now behind bars.
The Brawley Police Department (BPD), said the two are suspected of stabbing a Brawley man multiple times.
BPD responded to the stabbing on Monday around 12:15 a.m.
It happened on 400 North 1st Street in Brawley.
When police arrived at the scene, the 48-year-old victim had multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital with severe injuries. He was later transported by Reach Air Ambulance Services to a hospital in Palm Springs.
BPD said investigating officers were able to identify and locate the two suspects.
According to the BPD, the first suspect was located on Monday and taken into custody.
He was charged with attempted murder and robbery.
The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office said the first suspect was released Thursday after posting bail.
BPD said after further investigation, the second suspect, was arrested on Wednesday.
He is facing four charges that include, attempted murder, robbery, conspiracy, and destroying evidence.
The second suspect remains in custody at Imperial County Jail and his bail is set at $500,000.
Commander Brett Houser, from the Brawley Police Department, said the stabbing was not a random act of violence. Houser said they are still investigating any connections between the victim and suspects along with the motive.
