Honoring our Fallen Heroes

Veterans Day is upon us and we want to know how local businesses in Yuma County are giving back to our fallen heroes.

Tons of restaurants are giving back by providing either discounted or free meals. The public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of WWI is meant to honor veterans and victims of all wars. There will be a parade on Monday November 12th that begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Yuma Mesa shopping center and heads down south 4th avenue. The parade is followed by a barbecue, the American Legion Post 19 is putting on. Another place celebrating Veterans is Golden Coral.

“It’s a tradition we started back in 2001 so we are trying to give back to our countrymen and the military services that we have, especially being in a military town,” said Israel Garcia, General Manager of Golden Coral.

Golden Coral is offering a free meal on Monday between 4pm to close. Denny’s, Chili’s and Applebees are all participating as well.
