Train collides with semi-truck

Yuma County Sheriff Deputies are investigating after a train collided with a semi-truck. The crash happened on Friday, December 1st at 12:24 p.m. in Dateland.

Officials say a grey semi was traveling northbound on Aztec Road crossing the railroad tracks. The train was traveling westbound and struck the semi as it was crossing the tracks.

The driver of the Peterbuilt semi-truck was 46-year-old Lorenzo Rico Trujillo from Greenfield, CA. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and flown to Abrazo West Campus for medical care in Goodyear, AZ. The conductor of the train was not injured.

Officials say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
