YPD awarded over $80,000 in grants by Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety

The Yuma Police Department was awarded $84,300 in grants by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety ( GOHS ).

$54,300 of the grant money was used to purchase new equipment such as LIDAR units, Portable Breath Test devices (PBT), one police motorcycle, and one message board trailer that is being used for speed display and posting important messages for the motoring community.

The remaining $30,000 was used to cover overtime costs for Selective Traffic Enforcement Programs and DUI/Impaired Driving Enforcement Details.
