For those living in the Desert Southwest the arrival of trucks carrying fair rides to the Yuma County Fairgrounds is a joyous occasion.
For some it’s the time where you take that special someone, get dressed to impress and take some black and white photos, for others it’s a time to indulge in those rare treats like giant cinnamon rolls, Indian fry bread and deep friend Twinkies.
The fair also means competition for an army of 4-H students and their animals; but, for many thrill seekers the fair brings some high flying excitement rarely seen in the desert.
