The 19th Annual Celebration of Life Event
The annual Life of Celebration event hits this weekend at the Yuma Civic Center, honoring cancer survivors and those who have lost the battle to cancer.
This year will include a fashion show, with models from Yuma County who all have cancer. Leslie Short, the Women’s health director for the Regional Center for Border Health, expresses the theme this year, is a “family affair”.
“We’ve asked a group of cancer survivors to come be models, they will be modeling clothes from Dillards, and most of these models will be accompanied with a child or grandchild, to model with them.”
The fashion show is followed by a guest speaker who happens to be a Yuma native.
“His name is Robby Wagner he’s actually a comedian, a fitness author, it will be fun to have him come back and just speak a little bit about his experiences,” Short tells us.
