Introducing more candidates running for Brawley City Council

BRAWLEY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - On Thursday, we introduced three out of nine candidates running for Brawley City Council.

We spoke to three more, including the current mayor of Brawley who is running for re-election and the only woman running for a seat.

  • Ramon Castro: Currently the mayor of Brawley and seeking re-election
  • Viridiana Osuna: Businesswoman and the only woman running for a seat
  • Joseph Galvan: Retired utility worker, football and softball coach for Brawley Union High School

"What happens in my community matters so at this point we already in right we dove in head first...might as well finish what we started, so here we are, at least another four years, I hope we can accomplish and we can move on in four years," Castro explained.

"I want to make a group to support moms of autistic kids because we need a support group...I want to promote small businesses...I want us to create a swap meet...we need it," Osuna expressed.

"A big issue is our infrastructure particularly our roads so with that said...having worked here for over 29 years, we have never had a road division or streets division so that is something that I would love to implement," Galvan shared.
