Baby formula recalled after infant dies

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - Reports are coming in of babies becoming sick after taking a certain type of formula, with one death reported so far.

A concerned mom speaks her worries since her baby requires a special formula to get the right nutrition after suffering a milk protein allergy.

The mom, Kerry Caprino, explains how she found out Elecare was having issues.

"When I keyed in the codes on the website, all of the cans that I have were recalled," said Caprino.

Elecare, Similac and Alimentum are power formulas manufactured in Michigan and are now considered dangerous.

There have been four cases of infants who had to be taken to the hospital after taking these Abbot formulas.

The FDA reccomends not using these formulas and to contact a pediatrician if there are any concerns of babies who have symptoms of sickness.
