Aston Martin unveils new car without a windshield

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Aston Martin is paying tribute to race cars of the past with its latest speedster that does not include a windshield.

The automaker says the design of the Aston Martin V-12 Speedster is missing a windshield, inspired by one of its 1950's race cars.

Back then in the 50's, the no-windshield design was apparently a winning car on the race track.

The new supercar also features the old race car's mint green paint finish and a satin silver grille.

Aston Martin says the speedster car will be a limited edition as only 88 of them will be made and first deliveries are expected to begin starting in June.
