Democrats react to GOP border hearing
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Representative Raúl Grijalva (D-Arizona) visited the Regional Center for Border Health, Somerton High School and Somerton City Hall saying he plans to go back to D.C. and present realistic solutions to the border crisis.
Members of Congress in Yuma, talking all things border with locals demanding solutions.
"It's costed the country a bunch of money, the city a ton of money, and it's a little scary too," said a local hearing attendee.
Rep. Grijalva spent his day in Somerton discussing regional investments and port of entry modernization.
He said his visit was planned before the House GOP Judiciary Committee trip to Yuma was announced, but coincides with the hearing.
"I won't be going to that hearing. Those are antics. People here on the border lands and in south county in particular want solutions," said Rep. Grijalva.
Judiciary Democrats say they will conduct their own trip to the border next month to her from the community and government officials on the ground but no word on that exact date.
And still no solution to the ongoing border crisis.
