New York health officials detect polio in wastewater

(KYMA, KECY/ NBC) - Officials in new york say the polio virus has been detected in the county's wastewater.

Health officials run tests on wastewater looking for traces of illnesses that could threaten public health and recently the polio virus was detected.

Members of the public are urged to check on their vaccination status and the vaccination status of family members.
