Grocery prices skyrocket due to inflation

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Over the past few months, prices on everything from gas to groceries have been climbing.

According to the Labor Department, this is the largest year-on-year increase since February 1981.

If this trend continues, will local residents be able to afford simple food products or will they have to receive food from the Yuma Community Food Bank?

Shara Whitehead, the president and CEO of the food bank says that due to inflation she is already seeing an increase in people seeking food.
