US Senate candidate Mick McGuire visits Yuma
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - United States Senate candidate, Mick McGuire, from Arizona, visited Yuma to host a fundraiser for his campaign and to speak with local leaders about issues affecting our area.
McGuire discussed immigration, water issues and agriculture—topics that impact Yuma heavily.
He has dedicated nearly 38 years of his life to serving our country.
From navigating aerial combat over Iraq to negotiating with state and federal legislators, he says he has a proven track record of leading diverse teams through challenging situations.
From 2013 to 2021, McGuire served as the Adjutant General of the Arizona National Guard and the current Chairman of the Board for the National Guard Association of the United States, which is the voice for nearly 45,000 current and former National Guard officers throughout the country.
It's his 13th trip to Yuma since he began his campaign.
The competition for U.S. Senate in Arizona is tough, as there are currently eight other Republican candidates running for the position.
The winning Republican candidate will then run against a democratic candidate in November.
The 2022 Arizona primary election will take place on Aug. 2, to elect the next U.S. senator for Arizona, among other positions at the local, state and federal level.
