Mexican former commander killed, suspects still not identified
The general supervisor of a local police department in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora was killed Monday morning, according to La Voz de la Frontera.
The newspaper reported that the officer was identified as Jorge David Ramirez Sierra.
Sierra was working at the local culture center named Dr. Hector Chavez Fonts on Madero Street between 29th and 30th Avenue.
La Voz de la Frontera (LVDLF) said close neighbors heard multiple gunshots near a green SUV Chevrolet Tahoe where his body was found.
Several bullet cases were also found. LVDLF said the caliber of the guns were of an AK47, known in Mexico as a “cuerno de chivo.”
LVDLF said this case is still under investigation.
