Police: Kentucky man killed Arizona woman in hotel room

Police in Kentucky say a man has acknowledged killing an Arizona woman found dead in a hotel room he rented.

Citing a Saturday release from Florence police, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports 26-year-old Amanda D. Webster of Cameron, Arizona, was found dead at a Home 2 Suites on Saturday morning. Police learned the room at the extended-stay hotel was registered to 32-year-old Jesse A. James of Burlington, Kentucky.

Around two hours later, police identified the subject of a report about a man acting strangely at the Florence Rave Cinema as James. He had given officers false names and identifying information when questioned, and was subsequently arrested for false information and identity theft.

He later told police he killed Webster inside the hotel room that morning.

It’s unclear whether he has a lawyer.
