Report cards released for schools across Arizona

The Arizona Department of Education has released “A through F” letter grades for schools across the state.

The report cards were handed out to more than 1,800 public schools across the state.

Letter grades were divided by grades K-8, 9-12 and hybrid schools.

Schools were given letter grades based on a number of factors like, AZ Merit test scores, attendance, graduation rates and growth from last year.

Locally, some of the schools that received A’s were Crane Elementary School, Yuma Elementary, and Somerton Elementary.

Last year the percentage of schools with A through C’s have increased and the percentage of schools with D’s have decreased.
