17-year-old female driver in hospital after tractor collision

Somerton Cocopah Fire Department responded to County 13 and Avenue G for a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle and an agriculture tractor on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 1:54 p.m. The Somerton Cocopah Fire Department found a Scion tC with severe damage to its passenger side.

Upon arrival they learned the only one person in the Scion was a 17-year-old female driver, she was assisted out the vehicle prior to the arrival of the fire department. According to SCFD, the injuries are minor and the patient was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor was not injured and the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the accident.
