57-year-old man dead following off-road vehicle rollover
A 57-year-old man is dead following an off-road vehicle rollover in the Glamis area at around 11:42 p.m. Saturday.
The man, an El Cajon, Calif. resident, was driving a 2016 Yamaha YXZ 1000 southbound in the open desert near milepost 6 of Wheeler Road at an unknown speed.
The man allowed the Yamaha to collide into a dirt berm, causing the vehicle to become airborne and overturning. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
The collision is currently under investigation.
