Yuma County offers rent assistance
A result of financial hardship due to COVID - News 11's Arlette Yousif reports
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County officials have partnered with the Western Arizona Council of Governments to provide what's called the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
The program that launched in mid-March helps those financially impacted by the pandemic. However, the County has reported they have received only a small number of applications.
Each household can receive up to $3,500 per month for up to 15 months. Payments will be made directly to the landlord or utility provider.
Financial need must be verified either through documentation and the tenant's landlord. Anyone who has past-due housing expenses or may be facing eviction can apply.
To apply, visit the Yuma County website.
Monday on News 11's Early Edition, Arlette Yousif speaks with the County about the program details.
