Amberly’s Place: Donations appreciated – in the right place
After-hours dumping causes issues for local non-profit - Arlette Yousif explains
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Amberly's Place says there is a high volume of items being left in their parking lot. While some may think it's a nice gesture to donate items, leaving them in the parking lot is not allowed. In fact, dumping items outside the building is actually costing the organization money.
Large items such as couches are about $75 in fees to properly dispose of for the facility. Bags of clothes left outside are usually torn apart as passersby go through them and ruin them.
Management is asking the community to not dump items outside the building after hours.
Anyone interested in donating items should call, stop by during business hours, or even reach out on Facebook to ask if they can take your items.
