“La Mesa Murders” heading to trial
A man accused to be the suspect in the locally infamous “La Mesa Murders” is going to trial.
Preston Strong is already in custody serving a life sentence for the 2007 murder and robbery of a Yuma doctor.
Strong is also being accused of killing 35-year-old Luis Rios, 29-year-old Adrienne Heredia and her four young children.
The trial is scheduled to last about four months.
Selection for 12 jurors and alternates is expected to begin on Monday, January 9, 2017.
