Suspected ID thief extradicted and arrested

A suspected identity thief was arrested after allegedly skipping bail and fleeing to Mexico.

Jose Roberto Rodriguez, 31, is a defendant in two current identity-theft cases in Imperial County, according to a sheriff’s office press release.

The man was found in Mexicali, B.C. with multiple forged identity cards, forge credit cards and sophisticated forgery equipment.

Rodriguez was booked into the Imperial County Jail on a $25,000 bail.
