Five undocumented immigrants rescued from canal

U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued five illegal immigrants from Salinity Canal near San Luis, Arizona who were trying to flee.

Agents say the incident happened Tuesday when agents were called out to the area for a group of people entering the U.S. illegally.

The group jumped into the canal’s water hoping to get away from agents. However, they began struggling to swin across. That’s when agents used rescue equipment to bring them to safety.

Agents say everyone in the group is from Mexico.
