Better Business Bureau helping Hispanic community
With the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Better Business Bureau wants the Hispanic Community to know that they are there for them if they’ve fallen victim to a scam.
According to BBB, Hispanics are less likely to report when they fall victim to a scam. This is because some fear that their legal status can be looked up, however BBB said that is not the case.
BBB said when some Hispanics are signing contracts, that is when they are most vulnerable because of those who have a language barrier, and the contracts are in English and not explained well.
When scams are reported to BBB they are investigated, tracked, and reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Scam reports can also be made anonymously.
