Here comes the excessive heat

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - The Desert Southwest will be heating up today. Temperatures will rise above-normal with highs hitting 110 or higher this afternoon.

By the weekend, it will only get hotter as it will heat up into the one-teens with plenty of sunshine. Winds will stay light through the afternoon with breezier conditions come the evening with stronger nighttime winds for Imperial Valley.

An Excessive Heat Warning is issued and will go into effect from 10 A.M. until 8 P.M. Monday for the continuing hot conditions for Yuma and Imperial counties. Highs are expected to reach around 112-114 degrees.
