Warm, windy, and dry day ahead

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - We will see some clouds in our sky with conditions staying dry. Our temperatures will remain above normal as our afternoon highs will be in the mid and upper 90s our average is 87-degrees.

Breezy and windy conditions, starting this afternoon with strong Westerly winds of 20 to 35 MPH with occasional gusts over 40 MPH.

Due to our warm, windy, and very dry weather conditions, fire potential is possible, so make sure to be aware of your surroundings.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Yuma areas that will go into effect from 2 PM until 8 PM tonight as today is a very high risk for fire danger.

There's a Wind Advisory for the Southwest corner of Imperial Valley that is in place until 5 AM Wednesday for gusts up to 55 MPH.

Winds will strengthen later this afternoon and through the evening hours with gusts of 40 MPH or higher. Blowing dust and sand is possible, so make sure to take extra precautions if you are outdoors and while driving, as you could lose instant visibility.
