News 11 Weather Authority: Wind advisories return

March 21st, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The strong low pressure disturbance that brought us breezy and cooler weather on Sunday has made it's exit, while a stronger high pressure ridge begins it's entrance.

The conjunction of these movements has prompted the National Weather Service to enact a Wind Advisory and Blowing Dust Advisory for portions of both Yuma and Imperial Counties until 8 pm tonight.

We've had patches of wind and blowing dust that have limited visibilities in some case, with wind gusts topping 30 miles per hour.

The wind should gradually subside for the rest of the evening.

For the rest of the week, count on our mercury to continue it's rise into the 90s.
